North Roswell Internal Medicine providers are involved in education of Emory, KSU and UBA students. They work with the Atlanta Center for Clinical Research in development of new medications. This continuous learning helps them be prepared to provide up-to-date care for their patients.
Dr. Vukotic graduated from the Savannah Memorial Medical Residency program and has been practicing in Roswell since 1999. She opened North Roswell Internal Medicine in April of 2003. Her special interests are preventive medicine, hypertension, diabetes and mental health. She also works with students from Emory Medical School as adjunct faculty for adult ambulatory care.
As a medical student, Dr. Goga Vukotic has developed an interest in clinical research. Before starting her residency at Memorial Internal Medicine, Savannah, GA she worked at Baylor Liver Transplant Services, Dallas, TX as a research assistant and presented their research project at the International Liver Transplant Congress in London, England in 1995. Today she works with Atlanta Center for Clinical Research serving as Principal Investigator and Sub investigator. She is a mother of two children.
March 2016 — Dr Cheema relocated to Mexico City to be with her family.
She graduated from Emory Family Medicine Residency program in 2008 and has special interest in preventive health care, hypertension, diabetes, geriatrics, sports medicine and women’s health. Her multicultural experience helps her understand and care for patients coming from all around the world. She also works with students from Emory Medical School as adjunct faculty for adult ambulatory care.
Dr Cheema is involved in medical research with Atlanta Center of Clinical Research as well as in teaching medical students from Emory School of Medicine at North Roswell Internal Medicine. She is married to a successful businessman and has two children.
Dr. George Kanes joined North Roswell Internal Medicine in 2014. He is a native Atlantan. He attended to school at Emory University and Medical College of Georgia, and graduated in 1985. Dr. Kanes completed his residency and fellowship at Medical College of Georgia. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Pulmonary Disease.
Prior to joining North Roswell Internal Medicine, Dr. Kanes was in a solo practice in Marietta for 24 years. His interests include geriatrics, men’s health issues and pulmonary medicine. His favorite aspect of internal medicine is getting to know his patients personally and developing a long-term patient-doctor relationship. In his free time, Dr. Kanes spends his time with his dogs and enjoys cooking and gardening.

She was born and raised in Nairobi, Kenya. She attended medical School at the University Of Seychelles American institute Of Medicine in the Seychelles. She graduated from Atlanta Medical Center Family Medicine Residency Program in 2014.
Dr. Ali’s professional interests include Hypertension, Diabetes, Women’s Health, Preventative Medicine, Adolescent medicine and the availability of healthcare to underserve. Her multicultural experience helps her understand and care for patients coming from all around the world. She is fluent in English, Swahili and Hindi and in her spare time enjoys spending time outdoors with friends, family and her Dog Simba.
Native to GA , Keela Weeks Leger is a nurse practitioner with many years of experience. She is a graduate of Kennesaw State University, her background is in internal medicine, hypertension, and nephrology with a special interest in preventative care and mental health. Credentialed after boards by the AANP as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
She enjoys providing care to her patients and is also part of our research team. She takes pride in giving back to the community through her church, animal rescue and precepting Nurse Practitioner students from Kennesaw State University and University of Alabama. In her spare time she enjoys outdoor sports and spending time with family and friends. She is happily married and resides in the community of Roswell.
Tracy Kowalski, is a Certified AANP Family Nurse Practitioner with extensive experience in internal medicine, pediatrics, and family medicine. She obtained her Masters in Nursing from University of Texas in Houston after which she worked in the Baylor College of Medicine Internal Medicine and Pediatrics Residency Program as Faculty and at the Houstonian Medical Associates.
She moved to the Roswell area in the beginning of 2014 with her husband. She has a special passion for preventative medicine, diabetes, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia management. She strongly believes in practicing chronic disease prevention and having a healthy lifestyle. In her time off, she plays tennis and teaches exercise classes in the community. She is very involved in North River Church of Christ and serving others through HOPE Worldwide.
